Blue's Micro Pub - Whitburn
Blue's Micro Pub which first opened on Wednesday 5th February 2020, is exactly as it says on the cask, can or bottle, it's a micro pub, a pub offering a fine selection of alcohol at that. But also having a pie and pint night and a cheese board night. So while not exactly food related, there is food involved.
Opened in February 2020 a mere 6 weeks before the country was forced into lockdown by Covid, This great little pub came through that testing period and is now enjoying the times where we are all allowed to go back out and enjoy a drink. This is the South Tyneside Cider Pub of the Year for 2022 and the North East Regional Cider Pub of the Year for 2022. They serve up to six real ciders, as well as four changing real ales, often serving local ales. There is a bottle shop upstairs so you can buy a takeaway or if you choose you can drink that in-house (corkage charges would apply). A Cask Club takes place every Wednesday. Thursday is Pie and a Pint night and on Sunday there is a free cheeseboard.

There are 4 changing ales available this way, this often includes locally brewed ales. The beer menu board will show you what is available and what is coming soon. It is this attention to detail that is making Blue's Micro Pub so popular within the region.
This is a small friendly place encouraging conversation with no TVs or gaming machines and there is a bus stop right outside going in the Sunderland direction and another bus stop opposite going towards Shields, making this a nice practical location.

Pie and Pint night on Thursdays is a big hit as is the free cheeseboard on Sundays. But the keen eyed among you will have also spotted those mince pies. Yes, during mince pie season, you will even spot a tray of free mince pies on display.
